When Mallika refused to undress

Mallika Sherawat who is now known to be pretty bold with her onscreen antics developed cold feet while shooting for a bold scene in the film Murder , which gave her name and fame. For the film, Mahesh Bhatt wanted Mallika to give a nude shot from a long angle where they could play with the camera.

While Mallika agreed earlier, she refused at the last moment thereby leaving the producers with no choice but to use a body double for the shot

Mallika Sherawat on a new high!

Mallika Sherawat arrived in Mumbai a couple of days ago from Malaysia where she was invited as a guest speaker at the Global Brand Forum 2008, which was held in Kuala Lumpur last week.

Mallika was a part of an expert panel where she shared her thoughts & comments with personalities like renowned Hollywood filmmaker Oliver Stone & Dato Farah Khan, President of The Melium Group, which is into the retailing and brand managing of international lifestyle and fashion labels.

The actress expressed her views about the exciting challenges and opportunities facing the movie business and the impact of Indian films in brands and business. The discussion was moderated celebrated international TV interviewer Riz Khan.
Mallika also recently won the 2008 Renaissance Artist Award at the 16th Annual Diversity Awards held at the Universal City in California.

The actress is currently working on 'Hissss', a Hollywood-Bollywood film directed by famous Hollywood director Jennifer Lynch. The actress will be seen essaying a never-before seen role of a snake woman.

Says a delighted Mallika, "It was a huge surprise for me to be invited to the global forum along with Oliver Stone - What do we have in common, I asked myself? I guess for better or for worse we both have our own brands - and as Oliver Stone says - people either love or hate his films, but certainly have a strong opinion about him, his politics and his films.

I guess it's the same for me - there are young people around the country who have embraced me, and on the other hand there are lots of people in the country and in the film industry and in advertising who think I'm too controversial, radical etc.," she adds.

Mallika says, "Besides that, he has achieved so much and I've just begun my tough climb. But to share the same stage with someone who's made JFK, Platoon, Natural Born Killers and U Turn - All I can say is Wow!", she says visibly excited. The Global Brand Forum is Asia's leading organization dedicated to thought leadership, bringing the world's most inspiring and influential leaders to Asia. 'People think I'm too controversial for their liking'

The sassy Mallika Sherawat can't stop raving about American filmmaker Oliver Stone with whom she shared the stage at the Global Brand Forum 2008 held in Malaysia.

"It was a huge surprise for me to be invited to the global forum along with Oliver Stone. And to share the same stage with someone who's made great films like 'JFK' and 'Platoon' - all I can say is wow," said Mallika in a press statement.

The actress, who was invited last week to speak about the challenges and opportunities facing the movie business as well as about the impact of Indian films in brands and business, feels she shares something in common with Stone.

"I guess for better or for worse both of us have our own brands. And as Oliver says - people either love or hate his films. I feel it's the same for me. On one hand young people have embraced me, on the other hand there are lots of people in the country, film industry and in advertising, who think I'm too controversial and radical for their liking," she added.

"Besides that he has a genius who has achieved so much and I've just begun my tough climb. But to share the same stage with someone who's made JFK , Platoon, Natural Born Killers and U Turn - All I can say is Wow!", she Mallika visibly excited.

Mallika, who has been seen in films like Khwahish, Murder and Pyaar Ke Side Effects apart from a small role in a Jackie Chan's movie The Myth , recently won the 2008 Renaissance Artist Award at the 16th Annual Diversity Awards held in California.

The actress is currently working in Hollywood-Bollywood project titled Hisss . She plays a snake woman in the fictional-fantasy which is being directed by well-known Hollywood director Jennifer Lynch.
