I love yoga, says Kangna

Kangna Ranaut’s fab body is envied by many and her recent weight gain has worked to her advantage.
We asked her the secret behind her figure and she said, “I do yoga. I never miss out on pranayam and meditation. I do all these things because I sincerely believe a person should always be energetic. If your energy level is low, you tend to feel low and depressed. It’s not about controlling weight and inches to look good. Five kgs here and there is fine. Your body cannot handle low energy and then your work suffers.”
Looks like Kangna has figured out her fitness fundas pretty well.

Hrithik-Barbara-Kangana back in action

Recently Hrithik Roshan's Kites was in the news as the shooting for the film had come to an abrupt halt recently when it was discovered that a lot of the dancers did not have the appropriate work permits. Now our unit sources have confirmed that the shoot as restarted as they have brought in local dancers.
Sources further add, "In fact a few scenes have even been shot between Hrithik and Kangana Ranaut.
Basically the problem was with a song for which foreign dancers had been imported. Their work permit was there but due to some misunderstandings the shoot had to be stopped. It was in fact Hrithik who came forward and resolved the issue."
Kites had begun shoot in Mumbai from the second week of December and is expected to take place in various locations in Mumbai till Hollywood starlet, Barbara Mori joins them in mid of January 2009.
She was supposed to come earlier but due to the Mumbai terror attacks she had postponed her visit for the shoot.

Emraan, Kangna, Adhyayan together for an electrifying music video

Trust Bhatts to not just keep churning hit music but also attach innovative music videos to some of their best tracks. In case of RAAZ - THE MYSTERY CONTINUES, they have done it twice in a matter of just around 10 days with first 'Maahi Ve' and now 'O Jaana'.
While the original version of 'Maahi Ve' was the first to hit the screens a few weeks back, it's video starring Emraan Hashmi in center stage came very recently.
Hardly has the euphoria on the rock version of 'Maahi Ve' settled down and Bhatts are ready to unveil another music video for 'O Jaana'.
This writer had an exclusive dekko at the song and it has to be admitted that music video for the remix version of 'O Jaana' is the classiest ever to have been churned out of Vishesh Films.
The track has a New Age look and feel to it with the principal cast of the film - Emraan Hashmi, Kangna Ranaut and Adhyayan Suman - being a part of it. Also, while Emraan Hashmi (obviously) holds the centerstage, Adhyayan and Kangna aren't left behind either and have a definite role to play in the video.
Emraan Hashmi does what he is best at and has been doing forever in each of his chartbuster songs for years while Adhyayan Suman too looks far more confident in his entire cool avtar.
However, the stunner of the show is Kangna Ranaut who gets to lip synch the English portion of the song and looks like a true import from the West, what with her costumes, make up and the body language showcasing a different facet of her persona.
In fact the next time she mentions that she is just a small town girl from the North side of the country, she would certainly be questioned by many since she hardly looks like an Indian in the first place in the song.
With electrifying laser work, special effects and CG on display, the music video is the kind that should play on in up-market discs and pubs due to the immense dance appeal that it carries. Moreover, the cutting edge edit patter in 'O Jaana' makes it a track that you want to revisit multiple number of times. Have a look!

I was really trapped by dirty people: Kangana

All of 21, Kangna Ranaut has seen and suffered a lot (in her own words) during last few years in showbiz!
In an earlier conversation, she had admitted that she was going through bad times. She had said, "I got everything very soon in my life but personally my life was going through too much of trauma.
I was really trapped by dirty people and they wouldn't let me concentrate on my work. They tried to harm me both physically as well as mentally."
However, everything seems to be passe now ever since she moved on to 'yoga'. The biggest gift she's received from this, she says, is the practice of Silence or "Maun". The practice of staying silent physically brings to the fore the tremendous busy-ness of the mind and help to bring some quiet there as well.
Effervescent and vivacious by nature, Kangna has found a 'thehrav' in her life ever since she adopted 'maun'. "Initially I found it very difficult to stay silent; however through perseverance I did manage to develop this as a regular part of my yoga practice and have benefited ever since."
"When I am working, I have to give it 100%. So that's why I took a break for my personal work to sort out all my issues and only then got back to work. I did not want to struggle between work and personal issues. I am not that kind of a person. I can do only one thing at a time", she had stated earlier.
"Now, through Silence, I feel I've discovered my Soul, the very centre of my being, which is the source of all my energy - creative, spiritual, emotional and mental.
I've always been a very focused person, and I've chosen to portray characters in my film that are challenging and strong. This awareness and practice has given me greater ability to channel my energy effectively to deliver even better on these performances", she says in an obvious relaxed tone.
Through shooting Raaz-The Mystery Continues, Kangna has been even more diligent about this practice. That's because the character is one who gets possessed and has to deal with the horrific consequences.
"The role required a lot from me. It's a very intense role. So it was imperative to keep my practice alive during the outdoor schedules to be able to maintain the focus and equanimity needed to deliver the required performance."
"I know where I want to go. That inner destination's where my eventual goal is", concludes Kangna

Kites shooting stalled...

Yesterday afternoon, the shoot of the Hrithik Roshan-Kangna Ranaut starrer Kites was stalled mid-way.
The lead actors were shooting for a song sequence when suddenly a few policemen and a local NGO raided the film’s sets as they didn’t want 30 foreigners to be part of the song. The 30 dancers were asked to immediately leave the sets. As a result, the shooting of Kites came to a halt for almost three hours. This happened at Filmistan Studios, Goregaon West at 1 pm.
An industry insider said, “Rakesh Roshan (producer) and Anurag Basu (director) were taken aback when the film’s sets was raided. It was a surprise security check. The raid revealed that 30 foreigners who were dancing in the background did not have a proper work permit. Those dancers were not allowed to continue shooting after the raid.”
Did the shooting start again? “Yes, the shooting started but not before 3.30 pm. It took about three hours for Rakesh Roshan’s production team to arrange for substitute dancers. This time, they got Indian dancers for the song. Only the foreigners who were dancing close to Hrithik had their work permit papers in place because of which they were not in trouble,” said our source.
A source from FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) revealed why there was a raid on the sets of Kites. He said, “These things happen if the shooting has to be done urgently. But, FWICE has always believed that in Indian films, it is Indian artistes who should always be given preference over foreigners.”
When contacted, Shammi, Production Controller for Kites, tried to cover-up the mess and said, “There wasn’t much of a problem. Some local NGO had a problem with us having foreigners in the song. But I showed all their work permits to the NGO after which they left even before they came on our sets.”
Explaining why he needed dancers of foreign origin, Shammi said, “I needed foreigners in the song as Hrithik and Kangana are shown to be in the US.”
Meanwhile, Rakesh Roshan said, “A man called Bunty Srivastava from a human rights association came on the sets and asked for certain papers. We had everything in place as I had taken official permission from the Federation and the Guild informing them that I needed foreigners for this particular shoot. I was not asked to make any changes.”
However, Dinesh Chaturvedi, General Secretary, FWICE confirmed our story and said, “Yes, a local NGO and a few policemen did go to the sets of Kites and your information related to the incident is correct. But I don’t want to say anything more on this.”

There were rumours that Kangana and myself were locked up in a van but it's ridiculous. We are both professionals how can we do that. I am tired of giving explanations" he says.
Adhyayan says that life with Kangana has definitely changed him. "I have calmed down a lot. I was very impulsive earlier but now I do everything on time. Kangana has taught me how to be focussed" he laughs and adds.
