
As the actress turns 48 today, Indiatimes Movies reveals some lesser known facts about the lovely actress.
The actress is very organized in personal life. He loves to keep all things sorted out and this one thing helps her manage her home perfectly. No wonder then that the woman could balance her home, creative interests and films all so well. She was quoted as saying, “I am very organized. I think it is a birth defect. I cannot be haphazard even if I try!"
She might have worked in a plethora of good movies in Bollywood and down South, but she does have some favorites. When it comes to Hindi films, Rati feels, Ek Duje Ke Liye, Tawaif, Shubkamana, Mujhe Insaaf Chahiye and Shaukeen were the best for she enjoyed doing the different roles. Coolie, Mazdoor and a few more are her second best
Rati married businessman and architect Anil Virwani in February 1985 and gave up films for 16 years. The actress leads a happy married life and credits her husband and son for her successful comeback in films. In one of her interview, the actress revealed that lot of people advised her not to give up films. But in her book, family had to come first.
Apart from being a great actress and dancer, Rati has other creative talents too. While away from Bollywood, Rati helped her architect husband with some architectural creations. She also received a degree in Reiki, which enables her to distantly heal people.
In 2006, Rati and her husband opened a shopping mall called Virwani Plaza in Pune, where one of the stores 'Om to Home - Candles and More in the Mall' houses artefacts, exclusive fashion accessories, and candles all personally designed by Rati.
