John Abraham and director Kabir Khan gained critical and commercial success through Kabul Express. The duo has come together yet again for Yash Raj’s New York. Yes, the title has been confirmed by the production house.
New York has been extensively shot in Philadelphia and is John’s third film in a row to have been shot in the US. After Dostana and New York , even Abbas Tyrewala’s next which is also the home production of John, will be shot in Boston, USA.
Anyways, coming back to New York, according to Kabir, “ New York is a contemporary story of friendship set against the larger than life backdrop of a city often described as the centre of the world. For most of us, larger events in the world are just headlines in the newspapers but these events can change our lives... forever. New York is one such story of 3 young friends whose beautiful lives are turned upside down by larger events beyond their control.”
However according to our sources, the film is actually a love triangle set against the backdrop of a catastrophe a la Pearl Harbour where both Neil and John are paired opposite Katrina Kaif. In Dostana, both Abhishek and John fail to get the girl, we wonder what happens in Kabir Khan’s commercial debut.
The film is slated to release early next year and will flag off the Yash Raj banner too.
The trailer of New York will be unveiled with Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
