Aamir Vs Shah Rukh

In what seems to be one of the most appalling incidents in Bollywood in recent times, Aamir Khan has made offensive remarks against Shah Rukh Khan in his blog. One should respect the freedom of speech but Aamir has crossed all limits and it's such a shameful and irresponsible act on his part to have said anything of this sort. Quoting from his blog:

"Shah Rukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more can I ask for? Now, before you jump to any conclusions let me add that Shah Rukh is the name of our dog. And before you jump to any further conclusions let me add that I had nothing to do with naming him. In fact Shah Rukh is the dog of the caretakers of our house. When I bought this house it came with the caretakers and their dog! Apparently Shah Rukh (the actor) was shooting for a commercial in this house a few years ago, and that very day the caretakers bought a pup…, and named him Shah Rukh. What are the chances of me buying a house which comes with a dog called Shah Rukh!!! Some of my friends claim that I bought the house just because of the dog. I would have to be a serious fan of Shah Rukh's to want to do that. Your guess…"

It's disgusting, to say the least. Only Aamir can see any humor there. If you see the timing of his comments, you'll notice there's more than just the apparent. One, Aamir wants more hits on his blog site than Amitabh Bachchan's blog. Of late, Big B has also gone too undiplomatic with his views on everyone who's targeted him be it Shatrughan Sinha, Khalid Mohammed, Anurag Basu, Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss or even comparing TRP ratings of SRK's Paachvi Pass and KBC III with his KBC I and II. Rumor has it that AB has been paid a hefty 15 crores for writing blog on Ambanis owned Big Adda. So there's some sort of blog war.

Two, Aamir is known to generate wrong controversies at the right time. Remember his take on Black and Amitabh just before Taare Zameen Par's release and Narmada controversy just before Rang De Basanti and Fanaa. Probably he wants to keep the heat on for his Ghajini and his nephew Imran Khan's Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na. The tricks have worked in the past but they might just back fire this time.

Aamir has been taking digs at SRK for quite some time now. A few weeks back he proclaimed himself as No. 1 ahead of SRK as No. 2, which the King Khan had taken quite sportingly and smilingly. After all, the whole world knows who's numero uno! This time too SRK has maintained a dignified silence and conveyed his greatness just in a few words. However brilliant Aamir can be, he can never imagine to beat the charisma of enigmatic Shah Rukh, who's the real showman. In is own words, SRK does not have much time to write blogs. How true - the other day I watched him pumping up the crowds while Kolkata Knight Ridders successfully defended a low total against Delhi Daredevils. That speaks volumes about the man's energy and his magnetic personality.

In the end, all I want to say is that instead of giving tasteless remarks on his colleague, Aamir should focus on his own work. If anything, he is giving free publicity to his biggest rival. If it's war, then certainly Aamir is 0-2 down already. He can amend some of it by sending an apology to Shah Rukh.
